HEALTH MYTHS BUSTED

Everybody has some health advise to dispens but juz how many of those are true??

1) Avoid eggs to cut cholesterol - its true eggs contain cholesterol but cutting them entirely from ur diet won't do much to reduce cholesterol level. Most of the excess cholesterol comes from eating too much saturated fat like fatty cuts of meat, cakes, pastries and so on. Cut down of these and eat meals high in soluble fibre, such as oats and legumes.

2) Milk enhance garlic breath - scientists have found that milk actually neutralise some of odour-producing compound in garlic. The remedy works best if you drink some milk while you are savoring your favourite pasta or soon after.

3) Meals served on bigger plates make u eat less - food served on a large plate can look empty and may prompt you to it fill up with extra side. If the same amount is serve on a smaller plate, the eye can trick ir mind into thinking ur'r eating more than u are.

4) You'd be healthy if u avoid salt - salt has a bad rep of cardio relating problems. The truth is like all other minerals, salt is essential to our daily diet. Sodium is a minerals that regulate the fluid balance of the body. Studied have shown that eating too much salt may increase risk of developing a high blood pressure, but avoiding it totally would upset ur natural body function.

5) I don't need to waste time stretching before a run - any experience runner will tell you that stretching essential to getting the most out of your run. Dynamic stretching helps to strech the muscle, encourage blood flow and wake up the nervous system to get u fired up.

6) Going to bed hungry is better than eating dinner right b4 bed - It's not advisable to go to bed hungry bcoz restless night makes for grogguness the nex day and could make u eat more as ur body is craving for calories for energy.

7) Lifting weight will stunt u - A definite myth. We use muscle to lift or peess weight and the only instance where training could course a person to shrink would be through injury or a fracture of a bone.

8) If I don't exercise really hard, it's a waste of time - moderate exercise such as a brisk walk or dancing to ur favourite tunes can be beneficial.

9) I'm not fat or overweight, therefore I don't need to exercise - many people think the only objectives of exercising is to lose weight. Physical activity not only helps achieve that but it also gives you energy, , strengthen ur body, give u better posture, improve ur mental manage stress better.

10) Vegetarian have a hard time building muscle - to build muscle u need three consistent elements; stimulus from exercise, calories and nutrients to support muscle building and recovery. Vegetables are filled with slow-digesting carb, a verity of minerals and vitamin regulate your body function helping u to stay strong and energies. Legumes, nuts, tofu and bean sprouts arw packed with protein and that helps u build muscle.

11) Running on a treatmill is better for ur knees than on running trek. - although treadmill have a little more give than a solid-trek, you can easily go to paeks with a padded trek. When you run, ur body weight is founding on ur knees, whether on the treadmill or a trek . That is why proper foot strike or knowing how to land ur feet is crucial.

12) Haeat makes injuries heal faster - in actual fact, increase blood flow is the factor that heals injuries. Although heat increase blood flow and therefore helps repair injury, heat can also accelerate the inflammation whice may take the injury worse . On the other hand, ice control the inflammation of an injury, avoid swelling and force blood to rush i thus, healing the injury batter.

13) All u need for six-pack are crunchers - the reality is, you cannot predict whenur body loses fat. So doing countless sit-ups may give u strong core but it may not give u the washboard abs u r looking for it. It takes a combination of hard work and the right diet to reveals the six-pack of ur dreams.

14) I'm trying to lose weight, therefore I should skip breakfast - this is one that persistent, evan when most people know better. Just like we are all taught, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So never skip it. There's also evidence that people who regularly eat breakfast tend to be slimmer - one explanation yo this is missing breakfast results in the temptation to snack more. There's a lingering hunger that lunch wouldn't satisfy and so we pig out during dinner. Eating too much at dinner time is what makes us gain that pounds; our metabolism raye slowed down and there isn't a lot of physical activity do post dinner.

15) Microwave kills nutrients food - microwaving can kill some nutritiens sulforaphane from broccoli, but this does not extend to all nutrients. 18) I can catch up on sleep during the weekends - is not enough to play catch up on ur snooze time during the weekend. While catching moe zZzZ does help, the recovery is not complete and it may helps some people bit not others. The best way to make sure u get enough sleep during work week is discipline. Many find that getting to sleep is jot as difficult as u may think. Get urself into bed and flip open the book. You will be off to dreamland in no time.

19) Working out on an empty stomach burns more fat - when u exercise, ur body burn calories from both fat and carbohydrate. Although studied have shown that working out on empty tummy may burn a touch more fat calories, the overall results is pretty much the same. Its can also mean u have less energy to spend making u work out less, inefficiently or make u more prone to injuries.

20) E-readers are worse for ur eyes thans books - if u r worried about the effect it has on ur eyes, don't be "it's comments to think that the e-readers are like computers, "tablets and laptops are known to cause eyestrain after long-term use but those screens are illuminated from behind and constantly refreshed, , while new generation e-reader screen with electronic ink reflect light like paper".
